Flu Shots

RIH will partner with Safeway Pharmacy once again on Wednesday, December 8, from 10am-4pm at the Retriever Athletic Center for another Flu and COVID-19 booster event.
If you cannot make the 12/8 event at the RAC, a limited number of flu shots are available at UHS.  Please call to make an appointment.

As influenza (flu) season quickly approaches, it is important to take precautions to prevent the spread of influenza. Please take time to familiarize yourself with the CDC guidance on Seasonal Influenza Prevention and Vaccination.

Getting a flu vaccination is particularly important this year. It will help reduce the number of preventable hospitalizations related to flu, which will, in turn, support our nation’s medical community in ensuring that persons impacted by COVID-19 receive adequate and timely medical care.

Getting a flu vaccine helps to protect individuals, their households, and their communities from the spread of seasonal flu. It is possible to contract both COVID-19 and influenza.

Options for those with egg allergies and those 65+ that should receive the high-dose flu vaccine will be available. Please sign up for a time slot using the links below.  If you are eligible and wish to receive both the flu shot and the Pfizer COVID-19 booster, you must register separately for each one.

COVID-19 Boosters

12/3 update:  Booster shot appointments have all been filled.  Future events are being considered but please try other resources asap.

This year, Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 booster shots will also be available for those who are eligible and can be administered at the same time during this Flu Shot Clinic.

  • For those who received the J&J/Janssen vaccine > 2 months ago, you may choose either the Pfizer or Moderna booster.
  • For those who completed a Pfizer or Moderna series > 6 months ago, you should choose the same brand as you already received, but you can choose to take the other brand if desired.
  • For our international students who completed a WHO-approved COVID series  (other than Pfizer/Moderna/Janssen) > 6 months ago, you are eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID booster only.

You can sign up for a booster without signing up for a flu shot.

If you are getting a COVID booster, you must bring your vaccine card.
